Fantastic
We stayed at Hotel Engel in late Feb 2016. The hotel is a five minute walk from the train and bus station, easy to find and the owner is there to meet you. There is a ski hut at the back of the drive way to place your skis and snowboard. Inside the hotel, you have the cellar to place your ski boots and there is a small area with a cycling machine if you fancy a little work out on top of a day's skiing! A great little extra about this hotel is that they have a fridge full of beers and cold soft drinks for you to choose from from as little as €2, you pay at the end of your stay. This hotel has a friendly and a sense of make your self at home feel. The room we stayed in which was a double dexule room with a balacony was such a great size. The balacony was such a great extra with an amazing view of the mountains surrounding Oberstdorf. The owner Petra couldn't do enough for us, very fast communication leading up to our holiday and friendly when she greeted us and was always on hand throughout our stay. Hotel Engel is in a great location for the town, with it taken two mins to get to the town centre. There is a great choice of restaurants and pubs to choose from. Everyone is so friendly. The town centre feels very safe. There is a number of ski hire places to also choose from. I would say that they all offer the same price for ski and boot hire. If you are looking for a great place to ski and in a quiet location for all ski levels then Oberstdorf is the perfect location.
