Stayed here for the weekend & enjoyed it immensely.The setting is idyllic,within walking distance to the local pub & around Rutland Water.
Very friendly owner & nothing was too much trouble.Facilities in the cottage we’re great & we had everything we needed.The beds & bedding were lovely,comfortable & warm.We spent a lovely day in Stamford,had a cruise on the water & explored the farm shop & garden centre just up the road from Broccoli Bottom.Much needed rest & relaxation.

Carrot Cottage & Parsnip Place.

Fantastic long weekend staying as a family at Broccoli Bottom. Really relaxing in peaceful surroundings. Lovely clean accommodation ideal for all age groups. Great for visiting Rutland and surrounding areas. Walkable to view the Ospreys at Lyndon Reserve. We will definitely be back. Thank you Amanda and Sally.

We’ve just had a lovely 2 night stay in Carrot Cottage. The cottage is very well appointed, has a fully enclosed garden (great for our dog) and is surrounded by beautiful countryside. Plenty of space and everything you need for a short break. 

Sally and her family are excellent hosts and made us feel so welcome. 

Walking distance to the Horse and Jockey pub where we had a lovely meal and very close to Rutland Nurseries (excellent food) and Normanton.

We booked Parsnip Place at short notice for Valentine's weekend and loved it. Very cosy and clean. Ideal for our spaniel too as the patio doors opened into a small garden with the orchard beyond. TV worked a treat. Drench shower was wonderful. Easy 10 minute walk to the dog-friendly Horse & Jockey pub serving delicious food and ale. Very short drive to Rutland Water. Domino's delivered pizza from Oakham. Response to questions over the weekend very prompt, helpful and friendly.

Very comfortable cottage ideal for us and the dog as Carrot Cottage has a fenced garden. Beautiful views and very peaceful. Ideal spot from which to visit both Rutland Water and Nottingham This is our second visit and would certainly return

Broccolli Bottom is a real gem.  We stayed in Parsnip Place to attend my niece’s wedding. Parsnip Place is a beautiful, bright, spacious, clean and well appointment ground floor cottage.  It’s very private and even has a sweet outdoor area for breakfast.  The beds are super comfortable and the shower works really well. Our host, Amanda, was super helpful, caring and attentive 🙏  Sally was brilliant, swiftly answering all booking related questions.  I can’t wait to go back with my dog so we can enjoy the idyllic countryside location and experience walking the Rutland Water circular path.  Highly recommend.

We had an amazing stay at the carrot cottage, the silence of the country side did us good.
The cottage was clean and well organised fully stocked with all essentials plus. It’s got a beautiful front yard with large table and chairs. 
Cottage was comfortable and cosy, definitely recommend.
The Rutland area is fantastic for family’s with kids, many things to do all a short 5 min drive from Broccoli cottage.

My husband and I took a last minute three day break to celebrate our 58th wedding anniversary staying in Lettuce Lodge studio. We couldn’t have chosen better. A beautiful clean, spacious cottage with a well equipped kitchen, massive very comfortable bed, good bathroom with an excellent shower and our own secluded west facing patio where we took in a few evening rays. Very convenient car parking outside the front door, adjacent to a couple of self catering apartments. Pots  of well looked after plants and flowers added to our already happy vibes. 
A reasonably walkable trek to the nearest pub for a bite to eat, although we took the car as easy parking. Perfect place to visit the stunningly beautiful area with Rutland Water easily walkable. Plenty of excellent eateries. Super garden centre nearby serving great food.

We had a wonderful time at Broccoli Bottom. We stayed in Fennel Folly for a few nights, and it was a lovely home from home. The lambs and sheep were friendly neighbours in the adjacent fields, and the owners were accommodating and cheery. (The owner and her co-worker made a terrific double act!) 
We cycled round Rutland Water, not knowing what to expect. It’s not as flat (or as consistently paved) as you might expect, and it was rather muddy in places, but the views are attractive, and it’s an enjoyable and challenging (but not too arduous) day out. For food, the local pub in Manton is good, and Uppingham is great for the bakery and for fish and chips.

Lovely spot in Rutland with lots of lambs next to the flat. Very pretty and comfortable for what we needed for our short break. Clean and tidy and enjoyed exploring Rutland Water with my dog and visiting the nature reserve and bird lookouts a short jog away through muddy but pretty fields.

Christmas for the family. This is the second year we have booked carrot cottage for a Family get together. The cottage is 6 bedded with the most comfortable double bed we've ever slept in and 4 beds in the other room. Accomodation is available in the other smaller cottages so anyone wanting more privacy can stay there.
The kitchen has plenty of equipment and all you need for Christmas dinner.
A 10 minute walk from the reservoir banks and 5 minutes to the pub, what more could you want?

A late review, but wanted to share our fantastic stay at Broccoli Bottom. We rented out all of the cottages: Lettuce Lodge, Fennel Folly, Carrot Cottage, Mangetout Maison, Parsnip Place as well as two rooms in the main house for two nights for ourselves, our family and friends for our Wedding at Normanton Church and Manton Village Hall. We stayed in Lettuce Lodge. Sally was really helpful on the lead up to our stay providing information we needed. The rooms were perfect (loved the vegetable themed curtains!) and a fabulous location for us. The lodges allowed us to all have our own privates spaces as well as give us the opportunity to have a fabulous the night before the wedding meal outside Carrot Cottage over looking the fields. Thank you so much for this stay.
