The staff was patient with our very limited French language skills. The Croque Monsieur,  Croque Madame, and Tarted Tatin were all good. Those menu items were under snacks but perfectly filling for lunch. Salad was lightly dressed with a basic French vinaigrette.

We eat here one evening... A fantastic couple with a young lad that helped with some of the serving,

Very friendly with a bit of English - limited menu but very nice for the price - only down side was the quality of the fries - using old oil we think..

Overall a very nice evening - several of our group went there for a couple of nights and said that it was equally as good....

Would go again if we had had the time...

We can only comment on the bar and restaurant part of this establishment but the service we received was outstanding and we returned several times during our stay in Caen.

The steak is the best I've ever had and was an incredible bargain at only €10 each. It's quiet but it's a nice place just to pop in for a drink too. Family who run it are really customer orientated and generally just very nice people.

Definitely visit if you get a chance. :)

The owner is one of the nicest people we've ever met!

Kind staff, nice lunch

Room for three persons was a functional and for us was absolutely sufficient. I think we stayed for seven days and we had no problems with anything. Owner was older man and was very nice but you can have litlle problems with speaking of English because he doesn't speak much. Big plus is a price because hotel is almost at city centre and it is really not expensive. And of course, perfect place to start recognize history of WW2.

This hotel is a good place for recognizing a WW2

My wife had a fruit de mer salad. This was okay, but it was covered in a very sour tasting dressing. This ruined the whole salad in our opinion. I had the salmon steak, which tasted slightly burnt. We were alone in the restaurant, so it wasn't because of busy times. Very friendly staff, they adjusted the contents of the salad on our demand, but I feel the chef needs practice.
