Spent two nights with Susan in her lovely B&B. We were delayed for several hours and she graciously waited up for us, offering cups of tea to weary travelers.  The rooms are beautifully, yet simply decorated. Ours looked out over the ancient church yard/cemetery and rolling hills. She has restored an ancient house, lovely garden, breakfast served outdoors; bathrooms are shared, which we don't mind. Would stay there again, and again and again.(Be prepared to use stairs to guest room.)

Susan's extraordinary talents at both design and cookery enriched even our very basic needs for two nights of simple accommodation at the end of the season. As the only guests, we were welcome to use the entire second floor of rooms, the downstairs laundry and the garden. Normally we stay with friends in town but chose this experience instead on this visit and felt utterly pampered, Southern-French-B&B style--a delightful ending to our two-week trip. She is unquestionably generous and relaxed and it is a sheer pleasure to enjoy her gifts at creating elegant, comfortable space; she redesigned and remodeled the entire house from somewhat rough beginnings (doing much of the work herself) and the result is breathtaking. We left with a jar of Susan's fig and plum jam to stash in our luggage--a taste of her garden as a souvenir. Perhaps next time we'll sign on for some cookery classes as well!

If you want a fun filled week cooking delicious regional French dishes in lovely surroundings you couldn't do better than Maison Dunoise. Susan is an inspiring cook who puts you at ease as soon as you meet her. We haven't enjoyed a week so much for a long time and have nothing but happy memories. Although you spend a lot of time cooking, unlike a lot of other courses on offer, it is never a chore and there is ample time for relaxing and exploring a beautiful and undiscovered part of France.  we have been cooking all the recipes for friends and family since we got back home

I had a wonderful 5 days cookery course (one-to-one) with the charming Susan. (My husband stayed as well as a guest, ate all our food and went off on his own rambles in between!) I was a bit anxious to start with as I'm a fairly basic but enthusiastic cook!  However, by end of day one, all nerves had gone and Susan's sense of fun and her charm had me thoroughly enjoying myself!  The food we cooked was always so delicious, and I managed to make quite a few recipes I had always been too afraid of making on my own!
Anything left over always got parceled round the village to her many friends! Anybody in the village who lives alone seems to get looked after by Susan and her neighbours!
The accommodation was not only beautifully decorated but also very cosy and relaxing.
We had lovely weather so were able to eat alfresco, which is such a privilege for us Scots!
Looking out over the garden and listening to the birdsong was such a delight!
The memories of starting cooking in the morning,  with a variety of lovely background music (classical, opera, jazz and lively French music!) open doors, looking out into the bright colours of the garden, herbs  and orchard & sunshine! Aaah! Absolutely to be recommended!

Having studied the many options for cooking holidays in France we finally decided upon Maison Dunoise - what a fabulous choice!  Within a few hours of arriving, Susan made us feel at home and dispelled all our aprehensions about our lack of culinary expertise with her warm and friendly personality; we really felt as though we had known her for years rather than hours!

The house itself was beatifully furnished and demonstrated Susan's flair for interior design. The bedrooms were immaculate with everything we needed (toiletries, dressing gowns, etc) supplied.  The garden was delightful with various alfresco eating areas and the kitchen was well equipped and perfectly designed for cookery demonstrations and practise.

Having asked us in advance for our requirements, Susan designed the course to encompass everything we wanted to learn. We were able to work in a relaxed and 'fun' atmosphere and produced some remarkable results. She gave us lots of tips and shortcuts and answered the many questions we asked.

We cooked every day but had plenty of free time to enjoy the garden and explore the surrounding countryside and local towns.  Dunes itself was dellightdul and we met several local residents, all of whom were friendly and well fed with Maison Dunoise leftovers!  We were even lucky enough to arrive during the local fair/festival and were able to watch a magnificant firework display.

All in all the holiday was wonderful, cooking, relaxing, market shopping, wine tasting, eating & wine drinking plus a gourmet meal at a local restaurant.

Thank you Susan for a fabulous cookery course and holiday, which more than exceeded our expectations.
