Villa Hugon

We recently took a lengthy trip to southern France. We stayed in a number of places. Our stay at Villa Hugon in Ruoms was exceptional. The B&B had a lovely a patio with pool where breakfast was served daily. Ruoms was a good place to stay while visiting the Chauvet Cave replica at Pont d'Arc. A very delicious vegan dinner greeted us.

A splendid villa in a beautiful garden, the most charming hosts, marvellous rooms (great bed, we slept like babies): whatever your heart could wish for! Highly recommended! We will for sure go back to spend some more time, and to taste Rudi's cooking!

Needing a break from my stressful parisian life, I found in Villa Hugon the perfect place to relax. I spent one week in the huge and beautifully decorated Havane suite and would have stayed longer if I could have done so. I enjoyed the silence of the place, I was able to sleep like a baby. In the morning, it was a pure pleasure to have my generous breakfast by the pool surrounded by the marvelous garden.
I also recommend to have dinner there. Rudi (the owner of the villa with his wife Isabel) is a real gourmet cook. He easily adapted his menu to my diet (i am gluten and eggs intolerant). I still think about his delicious duck breast with mango sauce !
In short, I was warmly welcomed by this lovely and friendly couple (and their gorgeous cat Only) and will definitely come back next summer.

What a treat Villa Hugon was! A beautifully decorated wonderful home with a terrific back yard with places to sit and have a glass of wine by the pool, huge bedroom and very modern bathroom, large wonderful breakfast room, anything you want to breakfast, etc etc. And this doesn't even mention the friendly couple who live and manage this villa. We felt like we had some new friends. In addition this is a good central place to stay when visiting the various towns and scenery in the Ardeche Gorge area, while being able to stay away from touristy places. Ruoms has nice restaurants, not touristy, too. I would definitely stay there again!

Our stay at Villa Hugon was in september 2015 and we had the place to ourselves.
We stayed in the Havana suite, which was superb. Very big, warm and nice decoration, great bed, modern spacious bathroom. It really has a lot of charm.
The villa is in a picturesque setting, in a big garden with different levels and terraces and a fine view of the river. The swimmingpool is a relaxing bonus.
The location is central, easy to visit the Ardèche region.
Breakfast was more than ok, with eggs and other tasty stuff.
Great cooking at the table d'hôtes as well.
Contact with the hosts was a bit stiff in the beginning but got more easy during our stay.
It looks like they need to get to know you better before they open up.
The lady of the house offers some special but very relaxing massages.
