Villa Alexander 

Wonderful place to stay in Bad Ems for a very affordable price. Breakfast each morning was included with our stay and featured a typical German spread with meats, cheese, salad, yogurt, breads, juice and coffee. They also made these amazing warm pancake like pastries with fruit and raisins in it. I don't know what they were called but they were fantastic! We had a double bed which was literally two beds next to each other. We found this to be pretty typical at hotels in Germany, but I thought it worth noting for people who may be curious. Our room was spacious and we had a private bathroom. There are quite a bit of stairs up to the house and inside the house so be aware of you have lots of luggage. We had free parking, although spots are very limited. There is a train station nearby that is easily walkable. You can also walk over or under the tracks (depending on which direction you go) to get to the Main Street of the town along the river. There is a footbridge close by where you can cross the river as well. During our stay it was rainy so we didn't take advantage of the terrace at the Villa, but it looked like a very nice spot to have some wine. Note that this location is cash only...I recommend having your cash before coming into town, I did not see many ATM machines. Overall it was a wonderful stay...the couple who owns the house was incredibly sweet and were gracious enough to communicate with us in English. The room was great and breakfast was one of the best I had on my trip. Definitely recommend!
