Familotel Ottonenhof

Perfect for a family reunion with small kids for the weekend.
The rooms are clean, bright, and spacious.
The buffet style breakfast, lunch, and dinner were all delicious.
The drink selections were outstanding from wines, beers, soft drinks, coffees, teas, and waters.
They also have coffee and cake hour.
There are many activities for the children to do.
Highly recommend this hotel.

Up on arrival, we had been welcomed and shown around the property - which was necessary, as there is lots to get introduced to. The „Sauerland Card“ we received, gave us free entrance to the local swimming’s and a free lift up the hill in Willingen. But the best, are the people of the hotel making you feel welcome at all time. The food was fantastic, the staff - especially the Management - extremely close to all guests and everyone super good with our children. They felt home from the first till the last day. Each morning started for me with great runs through the forests and hills, our kids went on with the pony’s straight after, followed by tons of entertainment over the day. We all truly enjoyed our time and will hopefully be back next year. Many thanks...

Wonderful! This was the perfect location for a relaxing family holiday.

Our appartment was clean, light and reasonably spacious. The children REALLY enjoyed the Kids' Club, which had very interesting and educational activities provided by motivated and capable educators. Our kids particularly liked cleaning the ponies, going fishing and making "Stockbrod" on the fire.

By staying at this hotel, each member of the family gets a card which provides free entrance into a LOT of attractions in the nearby town of Willingen (and other locations). This was a real bonus, and we used the card to see or do something on every day of our visit. Particularly recommended is the cable car to the "Ettelsberg" mountain, which has an excellent playground at the top.

Another highlight was the food and drink, which was fabulous, particularly the wonderful barbecue on the last day of our visit. It is obvious that the hotel management put a lot of effort into satisfying its guests - young and old - and we'd like to thank them again for a really memorable short vacation.

Overall good infrastructure when you're traveling with relatively young children.
Cuisine is also good.
Not too much a fan of splitting kids and parents while eating when there is a 30m walk between the 2 rooms.

TV is still old style CRT.
Internet is not available on the room but only in the bar and parts of the restaurant.
Mobile phone... I had to go outside to use my phone even when it was roaming and selecting strongest provider.

Family reunion weekend.

Better than expected!!!

Perfect location for a relaxing family holiday

Good hotel with limited Internet/Cell phone coverage

Housing and food is OK, however even if you stay for several nights, there is no daily cleaning in the room, unless you pay an extra fee. Communication of staff about attractions is very seldom, and then if you are attentive enough, you would discover the need to pay extra for even a short ride on a monkey, or similar small attractions.
Furthermore, it is just sad that in the nearby there is really nothing to see or visit, with or without the kids, unless you take your car...
In a nutshell: there is a problem with value for money, i.e. the price you pay is too high compared to what you get.
