Instow Barton

Such a lovely place! The bedroom was spacious with a wonderfully comfy bed, and in room coffee bags, fresh milk and cake on arrival. Felt very spoilt! And to cap it all, breakfast was absolutely excellent.

Wonderful and imaginative breakfast menu with many options. Lovely setting on a hillside overlooking the valley and just a few minutes from the sand dunes and beaches of the estuary. Very warm welcome from our hosts and can thoroughly recommend to others.

Barton Instow Guest house is a jewel in the crown. A lovely old converted farmhouse nestled in the Instow countryside but only a short walk to the beautiful beach front. The bed was clean and comfortable, towels dressing gowns and toiletries are also provided. Cold milk was available each evening for a morning cuppa in your room before an amazing breakfast choice of delicious food. Packed lunches are available at an additional small cost if you are walking or going to the beach. Caroline and Colin are a lovely couple who run their guest house with pride.

Just had 3 nights at Instow Barton. If I could given them 11 I would. Great brekkies catering for all inc my veggie husband who loved home made granola, cakes, pastries plus full breakfast. Good clean spacious rooms. -Well placed for quick 10 min walk to Instow where we had fresh fish/ mussels on 2 nights. Honestly a generous couple who cater for absolutely everything. Good nights sleep as quiet with scenic views. best cup of tea I’ve ever had - I think it’s the Devon water can’t believe it makes such a difference. Was allowed to bring our dog who is pretty well behaved. Lovely rest, sunbathing at Saunton and revisiting old haunts. Thankyou both, a great stay.

Really beautiful guest house set in the Devonshire countryside and amazing hosts . Made to feel very welcome . Room was lovely , clean and the bed was so comfy !!! The homemade cake was a nice added touch . Delicious home cooked breakfast and beautiful fresh fruit and delicious granola !!! We will be back for another stay at some point

We had a lovely two nights at Instow Barton. Caroline and Colin are excellent hosts and as ex chefs, the breakfasts are fabulous ! The house is beautiful and in an incredibly peaceful location a ten minute walk from the Instow beach. Our room had plenty of space and was extremely comfortable, with great linen, dressing gowns and some really lovely local toiletries. Fresh delicious cake every day ! This is a super place to take a break - highly recommended.

Very warm welcome by Caroline, lovely touch homemade cakes in our room. The best pillows we have ever experienced in a hotel or B&B, and very comfy beds.
Perfect breakfast prepared by Colin, the apple and cinnamon pastries were delicious.
Just sorry we weren't staying longer, but better for the waistline that we weren't.
A perfect place to stay, thank you.

Excellent B&B, everything spot on, breakfast fabulous, very quiet, loads of parking, super dog friendly, 10 minutes easy walk to a large dog friendly beach and 4 pubs all selling decent food and also dog friendly.
Anyone wanting a B&B in the Instow area should try to book this one first.

Perfect place to stay, the room was really comfortable with a lovely comfy bed and nice en-suite with powerful shower. Caroline and Colin are lovely hosts, welcoming, friendly and helpful and breakfast was delicious (just ate too much), and the added bonus of afternoon tea. Great location, only a short walk down to the beach, restaurant and pubs and other walks along the old railway lines and coastal paths.

Instow Barton great place

Peaceful and stylish retreat

A perfect place to stay.

Perfect

Just a short walk off the South West Coast Path this B&B will not disappoint. It felt like home from home, so much so i didn’t want to leave.
Fabulous large room with smart furniture. Lovely view over the church. En-suite with bath and shower.
Really homely welcome and charming service. Breakfast was more than usual for a B&B with several choices and courses.
Quiet location enabled a good night sleep.
Stay here and you’ll wish you lived here!

Didn’t want to leave!

Caroline and Colin were very friendly and welcoming hosts. They are passionate about the B&B and nothing was too much trouble. Great value for money as well. Super clean room and public areas. Breakfast was superb. Our table was loaded with juices, home made granola, fresh fruit, yoghurt, freshly baked pastries in addition to the personalised choice of hot dishes. This hearty breakfast would leave no-one hungry. The room was spotless with luxury bed and bedding. Tea, coffee and plenty of fresh milk were available in the room. Decaf and a choice of non-dairy milk was readily provided on request. In addition, fresh home made cake appeared every afternoon in the room. We also made use of their packed lunch offer (Extra cost) and this was perfect for a long day out and about. I highly recommend Instow Barton and will be returning as soon as I can.

Fabulous

Lovely room overlooking the garden and countryside and sea with a very comfortable bed, delicious breakfast with homemade goodies, could not have been better. We certainly would not hesitate to book again.Thank you, Caroline and Colin, for looking after us so well and for all your very funny stories about your horses, dogs and cat 😄

A wonderful place to stay

Super friendly and welcoming host, a comfortable and attractive room, home-made cake every afternoon and wonderful breakfasts. The B&B is an easy walk to a stunning beach and various restaurants. We ate out at The Glorious Oyster and The Boat House - both recommended but we preferred the former for its relaxed, beachy vibe and quality of the dishes.
