The Missing Sock

Since the recent changes in staff and how the venue runs in general, it is an amazing to visit! It offers so much and is very underrated! They hire this venue for events, retreats and offer a friendly, safe space to hold other wellness days and events.

We had our sons christening here on Saturday the 17th of June. It was amazing and everyone had a brilliant time. Staff were incredible, we were able to go the night before and decorate how we wanted so it meant no stress the morning before the church. We had bouncy castles and a hog roast which on the day was taken care of. Very safe for the children, bouncy castles were located in the clamping area which meant lots of space for them to play and enjoy themselves without us having to worry they could get out meaning parents could relax and enjoy themselves. Stewart the owner is lovely and was so welcoming, all the guests loved him. The girls behind the bar worked so hard and they didn’t stop the whole day making sure everyone had what they needed. Will definitely plan any more events we have coming up to be located here again, 10/10 and very happy customers!

Popped in a week ago and had lovely fish and chips. Came back today for the Wednesday burger and beer for £9.50. Lovely food that is excellent value and tasted just as good. Kids also eat free. New owners are trying to bring something back to the local community. It's definitely worth a visit. Really friendly staff..

We had our wedding here on a sunny Saturday afternoon. I didn’t want to let to much time pass before leaving a review on the amazing people that made our day so special so a huge huge thank you to Will, Dale and Deanne. I know that behind the scenes Will and Dale went above and beyond to deliver such a special event for us. They had the venue looking exactly as we had planned and the whole day passed without any issues. They are truly an asset to any company and I wish them all the luck in the future!

Stayed here recently with friends with our caravans, we couldnt have been made more welcome!
Kids were kept well occupied with the bouncy castles etc, and the firepit in the evening is a nice touch - all the glamping tents were full and everyone seemed to be having a great time.

Food was great and excellent service.

Ideal location to explore round Cambridge!

The first thing I noticed was how friendly all the staff are.
I've never been to a venue that everyone has so much passion for customer service. This is old fashioned service and bringing families and people together. They even light a fire pit in the evenings. These people deserve to succeed. Nothing is too much trouble. Whether it's a coffee. Drinks. Food. Evening meal. Glamping. Functions they will make sure you leave very happy... cant rate these people highly enough.
Thank you Gemma and the whole team

We have dropped in a many times as a cycling “pitstop” for coffee and cake in the past 18 months and been made so welcome by Kevin. This place may have had a bit of a stigma in the past, but the renovation plans are great and the new ownership could not be more friendly. It is our “go to” for the best traybake brownies in the area, courtesy of Gemma. Once the garden area is completed, the new carvery is in, and the bar area renovated, this place will be awesome!

Stopped for breakfast on my own whilst travelling. Staff who served me were absolutely delightful, welcoming, chatty and friendly with fabulous service.
The breakfast was superb and the homemade cakes and brownies looked delicious ! Would highly recommend stopping by.

Popped in for an after work drink and a bit of cake. The lady who served us was fantastic. She made up a cake platter for us and every single cake was amazing! We will definitely be back! It's a quirky place too.

We have had four different Sunday lunches now, two each time. The first week we shared (literally) a whole chicken, which was excellent but a bit too much for just the two of us. Next was two chicken dinners, which was perfect size and delicious. Last week we tried the beef, again good, and this week the vegetarian Mediterranean Tart. Every meal has been superb, and I haven't even got to the Puddings yet. Homemade Chocolate Brownies, Apple tarts and crumbles with and without blackberries, all wonderful. The highlight for me is the homemade custards that come with it. I could eat that on it's own all day. The loyalty card scheme is just a bonus. Highly recommended.

Amazing day here for our sons christening!

New owners updating old pub with excellent food.

Wedding

Fantastic!

My son had his 40th birthday party here and it was absolutely right for him. Its quirky and fun. We decorated the room inside which we hired but, on the night, it was so very hot the owners let us move to the outside marque and use the red bus as a bar, The staff are so friendly and willing to do anything to make the event a success. We had a pulled pork barbeque which was delicious and well presented. We hired all of the Tepees and the three bedrooms and others pitched their tents on the land. It was a magical evening with pretty outside lights and lovely weather. It was a great fun night for friends and family. There are still ongoing projects at work and exciting plans for the future so its not the finished venue yet but it was absolutely great for us all. A big thank you goes to all the team for making this such a success

A welcoming “tray bake heaven” 😋

Take away Sunday Lunches

I stayed at The Missing Sock for just one night. Had a cooked dinner and breakfast there which was excellent! The host and owner, Kevin settled us in, cooked our dinner and ensured we had the best stay available to us.

The host was friendly and welcoming and sure did love to joke about which was a nice touch to it all.

I'd really recommend staying here as it avoids the busy city centre and is an actually relaxing escape!

Relaxing and comfortable stay

What a magnificent venue. Magical, quirky and unique setting. Funky interior (with nooks and crannies for break out areas aplenty) matched by the garden with fairytale lights and double decker karaoke bus - a particular highlight! Staff friendly, professional and willing to cater for every individual need. Loved it!
