Fabulous location. Lovely and quiet, really comfy chalet overlooking the beach. The bothy has everything you need - a fridge (thank you for the milk and sparkling water) hot shower, really comfortable bed and its just so peaceful and quiet. You can sit in the sand dunes right opposite and watch the sun go down. We stayed one night on our outward journey and one night on our return. Would love to have stayed longer. 

Lovely room, nice and clean. Beach right across a tiny road. We spent 5 lovely days, a great base for travelling around. We also used the local bus into Edinburgh which was ideal, bus stop round the corner. Local Wetherspoons was good, cheap and cheerful.

What a little treat... in a great location right on the beach.  Alistair was really friendly and mentioned a wonderful pub in town (Volunteer Arms) which we spent a few happy, friendly hours in.  The room was comfortable and excellent value - only minor issue was the fridge decided to have a moment about 4am which meant I had to get up and switch it off and on again in order to stop the noise... otherwise there is a kettle, toaster and some cutlery.  The village is surprisingly dog "unfriendly"  we thought the Ship was but on arrival it seems not.  So we got take out fish and chips to bring back which were expensive but gorgeous.  All in all would definately stay here again on our way up north

What a lovely little surprise. This is, in fact a converted garage but it really is sweet. 
Don’t be put off by the location on first arrival. If you are funky or quirky you will love it. If you are a hoyty-toyty nit-picker don’t bother - because you will give them an undeservedly bad press. 
There are facilities for two : wine glasses ( & corkscrew), knives, forks, spoons, bowls, plates, mugs, glasses and chairs at the little breakfast table. Tea & teapot, instant coffee, or fresh coffee & cafetière, sugar, & fridge for your provisions. So don’t forget your breakfast gubbins. Hairdryer in room. Clean towels. Bedding pretty AND clean. Bed comfortable with an extra throw too. Extra heaters in room if needed, but they weren’t. And decking outside the room, with a bistro table & chairs in the morning sun too. Pop over the embankment opposite the gate, to drop down onto the expanse of quiet beach. Beautiful for a morning run or walk (shame we didn’t have time). 
We enjoyed our stay and the gentleman that greeted us was very pleasant. 
We arrived, then caught a #26 bus to Murrayfield Stadium. It took approximately an hour as it made numerous stops. But the #26 or 44 were still running when we wanted to return much later that night. About midnight. It was a great way to park up and get into town, eat, attend a gig and get back again. 
We would do that again.

Stayed here, when visiting family.
Alastair was most welcoming. The location is great but the room required maintenance & was most disappointing. A garage conversion with a particularly draughty patio door, missing tiles on the doorstep, and a shortage of powerpoints due to the number of appliances and mobile heaters provided. Not a clean room with far too much dust and too many dusty cobwebs.
Didn’t like the dirty fan heater on the bathroom floor, the power cable of which shared a socket with the kettle plug in the ‘dining area’ via a hole conveniently drilled through the skirting board.
On the plus side, we were warm & the bed was comfortable!
