If you want to discover the spirit of central Italy countryside, this is the place to try. A lovely old stone house perched on a hill, with the vaste expanse of the Tiber valley facing you, a breath-taking view from every window and amazing sunsets from the wonderful peaceful swimming pool. Breakfast is a feast of local meats and cheeses, homemade bread, cakes and croissants, homegrown fruits and vegetable. Maria Barbara, the owner, is a wine expert and producer and you'll be happy to taste her creations, and she has a talent for decor and hospitality. Dinner on the terrace looking on the valley at dusk is vegetarian and yummy, the foods are all locally produced and the view is spectacular. The rooms are cool and silent, beautifully and simply decorated, the bathrooms large, very well equipped and everything is spotless clean. For us Le Trenta Querce (the Thirty Oaks) is a perfect retreat to escape the heat and noise of Rome, but the place is also the ideal base for day trips to Rome (50 minutes by train), Firenze (2 hours), Orvieto, Spoleto, Amelia, Bomarzo, Viterbo, Narni and all the historical little towns od Central Italy. Many hot springs and Thermal baths in the area.
