Just back from Santillana, second visit in 6 weeks to this beautiful, yet unspoilt area of Northern Spain. I took my son this time as he wanted to try huis hand at Surfing. We wanted to be in Santillana, within 30 minutes drive of the beach, and the Senorio de Altamira looked just the job for us. It had a really nice tennis court and a peaceful, secluded swimming pool, so booked it and headed out for three days. Well, what a lovely surprise... it is in a really quiet part of the Mediaeval town, minutes walking distance from the centre, but with views from the bedroom of rolling hills, horses and foals, birds singing, the whole package, nature at its best. The couple who run the hotel could not do enough for us, and treated my 13 year old like a wee prince. Delightful. Parking on site, a wee bar in the lounge area, with big screen TV, where we watched the UEFA final!, whilst the owners ran around offering drinks and attending to our every need.
