I created an itinerary for six women in our 40s with varying budgets. I really wanted to be close to be on this beautiful beach but the reviews had me a little scared. We paid for the garden view rooms and were steps away from the ocean. The ocean front rooms were more modern, but ours were lovely. The air conditioning worked well, they were clean, large, etc. I'm wondering if we were upgraded or something because some of the reviews talk about having to cross a road to get to the beach and that road is the main road and would be crazy. But we were steps from the pool, beach, and restaurant. The bar and restaurant does close early, around 7 or 8pm, but we were off at the Lamai night market or trying out bars and restaurants elsewhere. The food is pretty basic, and cheap, but after a week of high end dinners in Bankgkok and here, a chicken and fries can be a welcome lunch at the beach. It's walkable to an ATM, 7-11, and ice-cream shops. Easy to get a taxi. Staff was friendly. We arrived early and were allowed to hang out at the bar/beach while they kept our bags. We thought this place was awesome! I'm so glad I didn't let the reviews scare me away.
