Luces del Poniente We are so enjoying our stay in this small boutique hotel with wonderful views across the Sierra Guadaramma. It seems a million miles from the hustle and bustle of Madrid (still one of our favourite cities). Our room is very pleasant, with comfortable beds, a nice modern en-suite and plenty of storage space but the highlight for us is the stunning view from our own balcony over Cercedilla and the mountains beyond. So far we have only eaten breakfast in the hotel as we have Spanish friends living nearby, but we can say that the breakfasts are very good with loads of choices and some nice fresh fruit as well as cooked options and many Spanish treats. The staff we have met so far are all so helpful and charming. And the hotel itself is amazingly quiet and tranquil, even during weekends. The loudest sound comes from the little train crossing the mountains in the distance. This area has so much to offer, from the magnificence of El Escorial to the stunning natural beauty. We hope to be back soon.
