We had a very warm welcome upon arrival by the owners.  We were quite exhausted after a long hike and they kindly helped with our luggage to our room.  
The hotel has a lovely terrace with fantastic views over Sotres and the mountains beyond. 
The wholesome breakfast & coffee was the best we had in the Picos - a really good start for a days hike.  The evening meals were homemade and were epic - with a good selection.

I planned a trip to Northern Spain, and this hotel caught my eye on TripAdvisor.  We stayed here 2 nights and hiked Ruta de Cares. The owners were so kind, helpful and just so nice. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone passing through the area hiking. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the quaint little town of Sotres.  The rooms are modern and very comfortable. My 15 year old daughter was so happy. I think she would have moved in the owners. They were honestly so kind.  In fact the whole town is so welcoming. When we come back, we will definitely stay here again.  Reasonable prices, super clean rooms, good food and great company.

Lovely location. Superb service from family run couple. Very clean. Big balcony with stunning views. Recently renovated, all furnishings new. Room is not huge but big enough for your needs. Lady running the hotel is super friendly and no ask is too big or small. Food is lovely. Would definitely stay here again.

We spent four nights at this spotlessly clean, friendly hotel. The people that run the hotel were very kind. We enjoyed the food: very good goat cheese salad and the entrecote was juicy as could be. Great views from the hotel. When we left we were given a bottle of white wine as a parting gift. Greatly appreciated gesture. Wi-Fi is excellent.

Sotres is a wonderful mountain village with spectacular views, but I have heard bad reports about its hospitality. Stay at The Partridge (La Perdiz) and you will receive a warm welcome, good food and drinks at prices you will find astonishingly good value for money. I have stayed at two other small hotels in the village and this is by far the best.

We enjoyed the cleanliness and comfort of the place as well as the kindness of La Perdriz's owners. Sotres is definitely a nice village to stay and a perfect starting point for trekking in the Picos, a great region we'll be happy to visit again in the future 

Very clean. Quiet, unless you fin the all night sound of cows bells annoying! Reliable wi-fi - which was vital for me. Staff friendly. Not sure if they speak any English but that was a real plus for me as I don't want to go all the way to possibly the highest village in the Picos and speak English.
Breakfast punctual and generous, coffee was very good, breakfast typically Spanish i.e. white toast with butter and jam, various cake so if you want to balance out the days diet you need to pick the rest of the days food carefully. Restaurant service did not appear to exist, due to it being out of tourist season and me being the only person there! Great restaurant across the road.

We stayed one night at La Perdiz, having had a full day's walking including the steep hike up to Sotres itself. There appeared to be no other guests staying and the welcome was a bit off-hand. TV blaring and an empty bar. Our room was cold on arrival (the heating did go on eventually) but did have a balcony which offered a view to the peaks, but the facilities were rather basic and the double bed on the small side. The shower was difficult to adjust and unfortunately the bathroom was teeming with little flying things when we first arrived, but we managed to hose them away. Toiletries came down to one rather suspect bottle of liquid soap/hand gel/shampoo - it was difficult to tell what it was. No hooks for hanging towels and no mirror in the bedroom. We opted to eat out so can't comment on their evening meals, but breakfast was  very basic (toasted bread, coffee and some pre-packed cakes) but we asked for some cheese and both cheese and ham were forthcoming as was hot water for our thermos when we asked for it. The overall impression was very lack lustre and maybe there is more atmosphere and attention to service during the season. On the up side, it was very quiet.

End of Season Tiredness Maybe?

Room was spotless with a good shower and comfortable beds and a great view of the mountains from the balcony. That said, my husband had a dead spider in his tea for breakfast- we didn't eat there for dinner!
