Berg 

I visit Stuttgart regularly, but everywhere I normally stay was 100% full. Hotel Berg was near my destination and in my price bracket, so done. It's a small, family-run place. The desk is not staffed after 18:00, but they have a very clever system for getting you your key: They send you a number which releases the key from an ATM-like device -- works fine. I arrive about 22:00 and they had a reasonable "honor system" snack counter, with a nice selection of drinks (alcohol and non-alcohol). Breakfast was fine too, but but there was only one person to handle the breakfast and the front desk, so you're not likely to get anything that is not already on the buffet. Parking is a problem and somewhat complex, since you need to go into your room to get the key to open the garage: There is no place to park while you get your key to park! WiFi worked just fine, but there were no instructions, so you had to guess at the website you needed to login -- and remember, there is no one to ask if you can't figure it out -- answering 25 emails on my phone would not have made me very happy. The room was clean, larger than I expected and very quiet -- all good things when you're traveling on business! Long and short, I will stay there again, if my normal places are full, but it won't be replacing normal places.
