A quaint old timbered building but rooms, though very small, are modern in style, clean and comfortable. Although my room faced out on to the square it was quiet and I slept well. Reception was pleasant and friendly and there was a good selection at breakfast. There is free public parking in the square outside the hotel and there are restaurants within a couple of minutes walk, and the Chateau and the Clos Luce, associated with Leonardo da Vinci, are a slightly longer walk away. Recommended for a short stay in this attractive and historic town. For a meal I recommend the Restaurant L'Ilot, a no nonsense authentic French bistro with a menu that changes daily, or if your pockets are a little deeper the Clos Amboise restaurant is just across the road from L'Ilot.
