Hostellerie de la Renaissance 

Hotel is located a little out of the town centre (1.5 - 2km from start of main shopping areas) and very practical if you have a reservation at their restaurant (staggering distance!). Not sure why other reviews were complaining about access to the rooms. The rooms in the main building above the restaurant are accessed from the main lobby and not through the restaurant. Courtyard / pool rooms and spa but are in an annexe at the back separated by a small circular car park. These rooms can be accessed from the side of the building or through the dining room if you absolutely need to but this would be weird since the car park is at the back and there's nothing in the main building other than the reception and breakfast rooms. Pros: - Spacious, nicely decorated rooms with no vis-à-vis - Very comfy bed - Use of small spa (thermal bath and dry sauna with bathrobes and slippers supplied) and outdoor pool - very relaxing - Impeccable service (felt like the Ritz!) - INCREDIBLE breakfast (truffle ham!) - not quite Lake Como's Villa d'Este but getting there Cons: - No tea/coffee, safe or TV in room - No shower curtain around the big bath so it can get a little messy when showering but it was really not a big deal - Door to main staircase slams so avoid rooms close to the centre Highly recommend the restaurant and the breakfast and would definitely make a detour to come again.
