L'auberge d'Inxent

Off the beaten track. There was not much to do but settle in and relax after a delicious trout dinner in the hotel restaurant. We’d have preferred a shower but, as we were only there for one night, this did not matter.

Love, love, love Auberge d'Inxent! We've been coming here for 18 years! The perfect stop off at the start and end of our french holidays - always! We were slightly anxious when the previous owner left in 2019. (Pre Covid, great timing on his part!) But the new manager Aurélie is a delight. So welcoming. Great food, great wine and fabulously updated rooms. We have stayed in all five of them now and couldn't choose between them. We wouldn't dream of going anywhere else! It's our favourite place.❤️

What a superb little gem in a very pretty village setting. Less than 1 hour from The Tunnel. Stayed overnight on the way down to La Rochelle. We arrived late, after restaurant had closed but Clement was extremely helpful made sure we had a lovely bottle of red wine waiting in our room at our request. We enjoyed the stay so much we booked the return journey overnight and had a fabulous meal in the restaurant. In fact it was the best meal and best experience we had all week, beating the 5* stay in La Rochelle.
Rooms were spacious and bed very comfy. Hot shower, and a good nights sleep. Breakfast was plentiful with fresh baguette and pastries.
All in all a 10 out of 10 experience. Communication from initial enquiry to checking out, cannot fault it. Will certainly be back.

A delightful inn off the beaten track in Northern France. It certainly deserves better than being our one-night stop on the way further south. The room ticked all my main boxes - spotless, comfy, good shower and great service, plus a deal more. Our dinner and breakfast were classically French and marvellous for it. I really struggle to find any fault except that our bathroom doorknob fell off! Highly recommended.

This was our second time we have stopped here on the way back to Calais. We love the traditional charm and warm welcome and as before, everything was perfect. Our room and bathroom were clean and freshly decorated, with lovely bed linen and towels and very comfortable, large bed. The dinner and breakfast were both absolutely delicious - fresh and beautifully prepared. Both times we've stayed here it's been the perfect end to our holiday. We're now thinking of a longer visit!

Lovely room. Very comfortable. Welcoming and good food too. Close to Calais and Montreuil, so a great stopping off place.
Rooms are spacious and clean. Parking over the road and safe. Allows dogs as well..

Fabulous little place in a quiet village within 45 minutes from Calais. Ideal first or last stop after crossing the Channel.

Very friendly staff, delicious local menu, you must try the Calvados! Highly recommended.

This enchanting small auberge is exactly the sort of overnight stop that we always hope to find on our regular trips through France. Timeless, bags of character, welcoming and comfortable. The entrance hall is heated by a wonderful old range that pumps out warmth in every sense of the word. Our bedroom was comfortable, cosy, spacious and delightfully old fashioned. We loved the sleigh beds and the writing desk.
The small dining room is heated by an open fire that, during our visit in early November was even lit for breakfast. Dinner ( scallops followed by rabbit chausseur and tarte aux pommes using apples from our host's garden) was absolutely delicious - We can't wait to return!

Stayed here for 1 night in May. Lovely homely vibe to it, only about an hour from Calais (which is why we chose it). Staff were very welcoming and accommodating (they speak some English but, as referenced in other reviews, not a lot). Rooms are a bit dated but very comfortable and spacious. We ate at the restaurant in the evening as it appears to be the only place to eat nearby and the food and wine were delicious - the roaring fire to sit by and finish our wine a wonderful end to the night. Breakfast plentiful and pleasant. They provide maps for 2 walking routes around the local area as well which was a lovely way to start the day before the drive back to the ferry. All in all, a thoroughly nice stay - would definitely return.

We have been coming to the Auberge d'Inxent over a period of some 15 years and it never, ever disappoints. M et Mme Six are excellent hosts, the rooms are simple but clean and comfortable and there is always loads of hot water. The food is delicious, lovingly prepared using the freshest of local ingredients, and the wine list is extensive. Should you have trouble choosing a wine M Six is on hand to offer his expert advice. What is so wonderful about this place is that it never changes and in a world where there seems to be so much change for the sake of change and for no good reason this really is a little piece of heaven on earth. And for the first time we brought our black labrador with us and he too recommends it!

We only ate here whilst we were staying locally but would love to stay next time. Lovely restaurant with a great well priced wine list . Really nice glasses , lovely and fine . Nice menu a bit on the pricey side €44 euro for three courses with quite a few options having supplements. However we had checked the menu before so knew what to expect .
Service was friendly and pleasant but oh so slow . Expect to be there all evening even with an early table reservation .

Great food and wine but very slow service . We would go back though

Our Happy Place

Perfect little gem with fabulous restaurant

Great inn off the beaten track

Wonderful stop before Calais.

Enchanting!

Homely haven of calm in the countryside

A little piece of heaven on earth

Once again I booked this family restaurant run by M & Mme Six and had a very pleasant experience. We were 7 cyclists who had explored the vallee de la Course et de la Canche during the day and we enjoyed our meal at the Auberge. The food is fresh and locally sourced, the service was good, the atmosphere excellent. The restaurant is now well known by Brits who were there in numbers. M Six has a good cellar with a large selection of wine and brandy... just don't get too carried away as some of my friends did and could not cycle the next day!

Dining for 7 with Cyclists

We chose this hotel for the close proximity to Calais. The hosts are very friendly and welcoming, we arrived late from the ferry but they still came out to let us in and accommodate us. The home made food for dinner is lovely, and the choice of wines is great. The only thing is that breakfast is slightly on the expensive side, being 12 euros per person.
