The location is handy for the train station, the room was comfortable and clean and the proprietor was friendly and very helpful. Breakfast is simple - orange juice, yoghurt, bread, croissants and tea/coffee - but tasty, especially the bread. Recommended if you want somewhere economical to stay in Tours.

We read a lot of reviews before booking and so knew what to expect, the rooms are small, yes, but the hotel is charming. The rooms on the third floor are smaller than those on the second so they might not appeal to everyone.

The hotel is very well situated within easy walking distance of the historic areas, a multitude of restaurants and with parking close by.

Breakfast was simple and delicious as one would expect in France.

I booked three rooms at this charming hotel, cautioning my friend (for whom I also booked) that her room/shower room was likely to be tiny. Fair go; they were tiny. The rooms, however, were nicely decorated and clean. I had room 8, with my partner, my mate had room 9, and my children had room 10, all of which were clean, with comfortable beds.
The breakfast was fresh, and more than adequate. It is, sadly, always impossible to get a proper cup of tea anywhere outside the UK, so I'm not going to hold that against them. At least the croissant and baguettes were fresh, and the jams delicious. Orange juice and yogurt finished the repast off nicely.
Ignore the person who said the spiral staircase got narrower and steeper as they went up - I can assure you that the width and step height remained constant for the entire, exhausting, trek to the top.
The lady running the place was strangely helpful. Initially taciturn and standoffish, when I asked for a restaurant recommendation she opened up, brought out a map, and showed me her favourite place to go (by the river, under the Ferris wheel, if you're interested), having drawn out a nice, short city tour, including the cathedral and a street of restaurants. We never did finish the whole tour!
I slept really well, since the hotel is in a quiet part of town. I confess that first impressions were mixed, because it's not very exciting to look at from the outside, but once settled in, it was brilliant. If I had to come up with any complaints, I might suggest that an extra plastic tooth mug in the bathroom wouldn't go amiss.
Would I stay there again? Oh yes! Most definitely. I'm not sure I'd want to spend an extended stay, but two or three nights would be lovely. Looking forward to going back.

Charming little B&B within walking distance of Tours train station

Good things come in small packages

Lovely clean hotel, close to the Cathedral

I booked thos as a stop off on my way through France to a ferry on the basis of price,. €46 via Booking dot com. I was happy to pay extra to be town as opposed to Formule 1 etc, €15 less to be in an industrial zone on the periphery,

Just to clarify, despite what the booking dot com listing said there is NO bar, the reception opens when the doorbell rings. Oh and the wifi is so bad I couldn't even stream YouTube.

As per the heading here, you only get what you pay for, clean comfortable rooms in a fairly central location.

Realistically Price budget hotel.

We had booked for 3 nights left after one. Tiny room with lots of dust from nearby car park. No air conditioning and noisy when window left open. Tiny bathroom cramped tight shower. . Clean. Had to drag cases up dangerously tight steep staircase. Lady who came to the door was extremely nervy and defensive. Towels threadbare and scratchy. Wi fi hard to connect to with unnecesarily complicated password and weak signal. Even though we cancelled lady made us pay for the second night. we will not be back.
