Hotel-Restaurant Siekmann 

Siekmann Pension welcomes you with a wamr familiar setting. The building itself is old styled but confortable and near village centre. Rooms arewide enough, confortable with a simple but functinal furniture and the cleaning is perfect and timely. The release of soap and shower foam is not so timely although...but it's not a big problem...TV set has only german and dutch channels..So if you don't speak the language...Let it go... By the way Siekmann has a very fast, complimentary, and reliable internet connection and with this bonus, TV is not so important...All the rooms are indeed very silent son you can sleep well...But all'n' all Kalkar is very silent at all.... A couple of words for the restaurant wich is absolutely worth a visit. The owner is very talented cooker for fish and meat and you can taste german or international cuisine delicatessen with a good prices average and a wide enough selection of wines. Personally I had a delicious zafran fish with side pasta that was NOt overcooked (wow!). The brekfast is simple but with very very good quality foods (bio or famous brands only!). In cpnclusion and in respect of the very low prices (av. of 50 euros a day...) Siekmann is a wise and satisfactory choice to have a stay and a taste of Germany in Kalkar.
