Pension Talblick 

This pension is in a village that is a short drive from Hoechst - or a 90-minute walk across fields and woods if you are on foot, as I was! The location is wonderful, in the heart of the beautiful Odenwald countryside. The Talblick may be a pension, but it was better than many hotels I have stayed in that cost a lot more. I had a large room with great en suite and sheltered balcony. Owner Andrea could not do enough to make sure I was happy. She was shocked that I had walked from the station at Hoechst and had no car, and even offered to drive me places for dinner. But I enjoyed the 20 minute walk across country tracks to get to the restaurant in the next village, especially as my visit was to walk and get fit! (I visited in October. During peak season, when they are busy, the pension does provide dinner for groups). The breakfast is everything you could wish for and the dining room has a lovely view. On my departure day, Andrea drove me to the station, and I felt I was saying goodbye to an old friend!
