Excelent choice, warm place and family 👌live the town and the places around these are a perfect town for a relax time, perfect place for a family, the room was clean and warm, nice breakfast and a very beatoful livingroom , nice and polity people, if I can im coming back

Recently stayed for 2 nights. What a gloriously decorated and atmospheric old building! The rooms wouldn't be out of place in a country house, and are traditionally completed with everything one needs to feel more than comfortable. The welcome I received was ever so warm and friendly and was just what I was in need of; I felt I'd left a little of my heart behind when I departed. Speaking of hearts, I heartily recommend The Old Bakehouse with it's beautiful paintings, charming furnishings and it's equally lovely husband and wife hosts to anyone wanting or needing to stay in the Walsingham area. I hope to visit The Old Bakehouse many, many times as it is truly a North Norfolk secret that needs sharing far and wide! Thank you for making everything perfect.

The Old Bakehouse is a real gem of a place. The building itself is the star of the show - as important and steeped in history as anything you'll find in Walsingham (and there's some fierce competition in this beautiful Norfolk town). With a sixteenth-century core and a pedimented Georgian front, there's much to delight the eye and the mind here. Within the happy edifice, you'll find two charming and accommodating hosts (Charlotte and Justin) and their equally entertaining son Isidore, aptly named after the sixth-century polymath Isidore of Seville. We stayed only one night, but found time for a brilliant conversation with the hosts, a simple but satisfying breakfast, and a walk around the town with Pevsner as our guide. We saw the ruins of the abbey and the big house in its grounds (with lovely pinkish render and a medieval crypt in its belly), the numinous Anglican shrine, and the brave little Orthodox Church in the old railway station. We met a nun, some pilgrims, and a funny old man who went to school many moons back in a building on the Friday Market. Go to Walsingham and stay with Justin and Charlotte; you won't regret it.

We booked only a few weeks before our stay as another accommodation for a wedding let us down. From the get go the owners were responsive with messages and immediately said we'd be able to at least drop our bags and get ready ahead of the wedding, but upon arrival the room was ready which was a lovely surprise. 

Walsingham is a gorgeous village and the b&b is a few doors down from the village shop, cafe and numerous quaint shops. We parked in the 'main' village car park which charged just £5 for 24 hours, had plenty of spaces and felt very safe - 2 minutes walk to the b&b.

The room was lovely - comfy bed, separate bathroom, kettle, mini fridge if we needed it - and downstairs was a shared mini kitchen well stocked for our stay with juices, yogurts - even some beers! There were plenty of cereals, butters,  toast, croissant and jams for breakfast which suited us perfectly to grab for ourselves what and when we wanted. 

Our only gripe is that we didn't stay longer to see what else Walsingham and this area of Norfolk had to offer - we will be back!

I didn't book this stay as a holiday - I had to leave my flat while a water leak was being repaired - but I am so glad I chose to come here. Charlotte and Justin have only been running their establishment for 8 months, but you'd never know it after seeing what a wonderful place this is. Absolutely gorgeous room, with proper linen sheets and every facility I could possibly want. There was a microwave and hotplate downstairs if I felt like cooking my dinner, and breakfast was a lovely continental affair - I was even treated to some delicious homemade bread! Absolutely charming hosts, and I will definitely return!

What an absolute gem of place! We absolutely loved the house, it's such a lovely place to set off from and come back to after a wonderful walk on the beach Wells Next the Sea, we came back to a lovely roaring fire and drinks with the wonderful and friendly hosts, Justin and Charlotte. It's a fantastic place to stay as it's not just warm and cosy but also a great location with which to go off and adventure the coastal walks, beaches, the Walsingham shrine and abbey. All in all a splendid stay at such a wonderful and charming B&B. We will definitely visit again, 10 out of 10. Thank you!

Charlotte and Justin are delightful hosts who have made the Old Bakehouse a very cosy and homely place to stay in the heart of Walsingham. The whole house is gorgeous, and the rooms, supremely comfortable, with cushions, comfy armchairs, soft beds and every possible amenity. The quiet of Walsingham at night only adds to the tranquillity. The Bakehouse has been beautifully decorated by Charlotte who is an artist and photographer, and Justin, a musician. It is located approximately one mile from the Catholic shrine and is at the centre of the village. The perfect place for a restful retreat!

I had the most beautiful time at the Old Bakehouse staying with the Harmers! My room was bright and cosy, the bed was heavenly soft, and the whole atmosphere was utterly heart-warming. Justin and Charlotte really know how to make their guest feel at home. Even though I was separated from my family for Christmas, I got to experience some true Christmas joy with the house being lovingly and thoughtfully decorated and festive music and smells all around. 

The time with the family makes for fond memories, especially with young Isidor and little Miri (a cuddly and kind Jack Russel Terrier). Breakfast was provided and I could satisfy my day-to-day needs with a quick (30 seconds) trip to the corner shop or a two-minute stroll over to the Farmer’s Shop, hence there was no need for a car during my stay. This stay has become one of my favourite Chrismas-es so far!!

Charlotte and Justin were amazing hosts who take you in as a visitor and make you so welcome. Its a gorgeous old house with lovely, characterful rooms ideally situated close to the centre of Walsingham. The surrounding countryside and market towns means its a great base and on top of that Walsingham has a unique spiritual flavour as a pilgrimage site which unspoilt medieval architecture.  Couldn't recommend highly enough.

My stay at the Bake House was wonderfully accommodated, with an enchanting warmth that radiated throughout the house, the living + dinning room transported one to a very medieval period bringing a relaxation from the drive of the modern world. The welcome was truly delightful and the family always making themselves available to cherish your presence brought a deeply calming effect with it. 
The ease of staying in the Bake House was especially helpful in the location setting, being practically half way up the main street, the Church is a minute walk and the shop just 30 seconds away, then of course one can take a stroll to the Farmers shop which is in the opposite direction or drop into the Anglican Shrine. The gates to the monastery from the period before Henry VIII is practically in front of the house taking one to another timeline and century.
For anyone who is perhaps an artist or a poet or just someone seeking rest this is a place that captures both heart and soul sending you home with a deeply enkindled joy as though one has lived a fairy-tale!

A beautiful North Norfolk secret that deserves sharing far and wide!

We stayed 1 night at this warm and welcoming family home right in the heart of Walsingham. A beautiful historic building with the feel of a real, down-to-earth family base.  We enjoyed its unique ambience - full of interesting pictures, artefacts, musical instruments and furnished with some lovely traditional touches. It's years since I've slept with an eiderdown on my bed! 

We were able to park right outside (free of charge) overnight and then moved the car to the public car park in the morning - £7 for 24-hours. Tea and coffee facilities in the room, with a little fridge for a jug of milk. A self service breakfast buffet in the morning. Highly recommended if you prefer something more personal than chain hotels and commercial ambience.
