We arrived in Concarneau without a hotel reservation; it was dusk and it was raining. We wanted to be near the sea, so set off (guided byTripadvisor) to the beach north of centre ville. We had a budget, saw the exterior of the Ker-Moor, walked in and asked if they had a room with two beds. Alas, they only had a suite (no 15) with two beds… we were taken to view it, budget went out the window… but the sound of the sea came in. The Ker-moor is not suave or swanky, fashionable or cool; it is unique. As it says in its biog (yes, it has a voice), it is the only trawler hotel in the world. Its walls are enhanced by large, vivacious paintings by the owner. It offers bed-and-breakfast, and handily has a good restaurant in the hotel Les Sables Blancs next door. Other reviews say it all. An original, with welcoming, charming staff. I shall be back soon - and for longer than one night!
