difficult to get in as no door bell, had to phone owner and muddle through with poor spanish! but were made to feel very welcome, had booked room on top floor so quiet and good bedroom.  Had dinner bed and breakfast for not much more than £50. Dinner included wine and 3 courses, fantastic food, cant fault the place. Wonderful town, parked on side street but we knew from booking there was no parking.

We prebooked our accommodation with Opodo and stayed the night prior to travelling up to Alcaniz for the World Superbike.  We were able to park in the street just across from the hotel and checked in easily.  The owners are not fluent in English and we are not fluent in Spanish but we communicated well enough in a relaxed and friendly style.

The bedroom was reasonably large and the shower was nice and hot. The room was nice and bright once we'd opened the shutters.  We didn't try the TV because we walked around the very picturesque town instead.  The old town in Valderrobes has incredible charm and you must add it to your itinary even if you don't stay at Fonda Angeleta.

The quality of the food in the evening and breakfast was very good indeed and was excellant value for money.  The house wine was excellent.

I look forward to staying here again next year.

We stayed overnight in this hotel and the photos really don't do it justice. It's much bigger than it seems. The bedroom was bright with a huge, comfortable king size bed and a very clean bathroom. What's more the restaurant is huge, as are the reasonably priced breakfasts. The girl who runs the place is really friendly and helpful. It's a stonesthrow away from the centre of the old town just on the other side of the bridge and on the road to other beautiful villages in the area. Definitely stay here if you are in the area. I would recommend it and go back.

We had an exellent lunch at Fonda Angeleta - a three-course meal, with wine, water and gaseosa included for only E9.5.  The atmosphere was warm and welcoming and the servers extremely kind and patient as we struggled in our limited Spanish to understand the menu.  We would gladly return and hope to do so soon.

I loved this place; great food, clean and comfortable accommodation

Arrival at the hotel was a disappointment. Firstly, there was a street market right outside the hotel, so we had to park in a back street and walk with bags to the hotel. Secondly, and more importantly, the "hotel" really does seem to place more of an emphasis on welcoming it's restaurant clientele and not on hotel guests - when we arrived, at around 7.00pm, the hotel doors were locked with no life inside, there was not even a bell to ring so we had to phone the hotel owner from our mobile; she spoke no English at all, so tried to get by on limited French. Once the restaurant is open, the doors are open wide and the entrance "hall" is well lit.

The hotel rooms themselves need some attention - the bedroom itself was okay (seemed to have been recently, though hurriedly, decorated), although it was quite dim being in the middle of the building... though at least it was away from the noise of the street market, which also starts setting up very early the next morning. However, the bathroom was very disappointing. It is very dated, there looks to be a problem with sealant, and there was either mildew or pink mold in one or two places; the ceiling is also cheap polystyrene tiles. It was nice to have a good sized bath, but it took AGES to fill it, over 20 minutes!

The restaurant is definitely the plus-side of the business. The evening meal was very tasty, huge choice of food, although (non-tapas) meat courses more expensive than experienced elsewhere in Spain; chocolate cake dessert was to die for! Breakfast offering was also good quality and value. Service of the one English-speaking waitress was excellent, she was extremely obliging, translating the menu for us; hopefully she got the tip we left on the table!

However, major downside impact of the popular restaurant is that it is busy and open until around 1.00am in the morning, so if you have a room on the floor above it is IMPOSSIBLE to get to sleep until trade almost ceases.

The town itself has an interesting old town area, which is nice to walk around in the evening.
