Lovely cosy pub, very reasonably priced, great bar with good beers and a really good breakfast. Room was great, clean and nice bathroom. Will come again no doubt.

This is our third visit to the Barn Annexe and we’ve also stayed in rooms at the inn. Excellent facilities, fantastic staff and food to die for. Will be back in the New Year.

Amazing room (Apartment) much better than the photos show. Room was spotless with all amenieties you could possibly need. Super fast internet which was great to keep the children entertained via the provided smart TVwhilst we unpacked etc. Upon arrival we were imediatley greeted and shown to our room. Fantastic!! Excellent food also and staff were very attentive. I highly reccomend and will be booking again. Breakfeast is also huge.

A warm welcome, friendly staff, and a comfortable, clean room. I had pizza from the restaurant (perfect vegan  mushroom & sunblushed tomatoes!) and non-alcoholic cider. More vegan options would have been good, e.g. non dairy milk, spread, or sausages for breakfast. Overall great though, would definitely recommend.

Wonderful two nights staying in the Barn Annexe as we had our dog with us. That Annexe was spotless, spacious and caters to all your needs. This was our forth time staying at the Hare and Hounds in both rooms within the inn and the Barn. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the food was excellent both the variety at breakfast and evening meals. Highly recommended. We’re going back for another  visit end of November.

Lovely pub, room was great, clean tidy and a little mini fridge with water and fresh milk. Bed was comfy. Cafetiere provided too.Food was very good and the staff were very friendly and helpful.We hadn't booked for dinner but they provided a little table for us which was great.  I recommend booking a table as it gets very busy.  We stayed on a Friday night.Good access to many of the lakes attractions and some good walks nearby.  Would definitely stay again and recommend.

Heather the manager was very friendly and welcoming.We got our drinks at the bar and confirmed our stay and we had a lovely evening  meal.The room was spacious and comfortable with a shower and bath.It was very quiet.Breakfast in the morning was great and heather made us feel so at home.Definitely would recommend a stay.

Beds very comfortable, bathroom modern with separate tub and shower very convenient.  Dining available in restaurant on site.  Provided full breakfast with customary hot and cold options available in other local B&B.  Friendly pleasant and helpful  staff.  Pastoral views from windows.  Easy access from major roads.

We were here to see the beauty of the Lake District. Loved taking the recommended walk about the village; so rich and green, lots of wild flowers, stone walls, and old and new homes. The room was perfect: a big bed, roomy shower, with tea, coffee, and water available in the room. The food in the restaurant was great! There’s a pub side too that’s very welcoming with a great selection!

A Perfect Spot

A stopover on our way to Scotland - 4 or 5 miles from the M6. A warm welcome in the bar (and the beers) after battling the traffic on the M6 was just what I needed! We shared the fish platter which was great and finished off with a tasty pud. A good night’s sleep and an excellent cooked breakfast completed our night’s stay. All the staff were most helpful and friendly and the pub has lots of character. We shall call in again when travelling north!

Better than expected, an absolute hidden gem! The room (barn annexe) was beautiful, all furnishings were high quality, you can tell the owners really care. We didn't have our dogs with us, but this room is suitable for those travelling with their paw-pals and even had a lovely dog bed in the cupboard if needed. The bed was amazingly comfortable (locally handmade mattress apparently!), the kitchen facilities were great, and the bathroom was luxurious. Everything was sparkling clean. We were travelling with our 4 month old, the owners provided a travel cot - best travel cot we have ever used! It was a super thick John Lewis mattress included, our baby slept so well. So many thoughtful touches - high quality toiletries, tea, fresh coffee & fresh milk, brownies etc.We ate in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast and the food matched the quality of the room, so tasty and well presented.The staff couldn't do enough for us and were incredibly friendly.I will be recommending The Hare & Hounds to everyone who will listen!

A hidden gem

We have family in Levens and regularly visit but this was the first time we had stayed at the Hare and Hounds. Our room (Bennett) was lovely and the bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and the staff friendly and helpful. We didn’t have dinner on this occasion but have eaten here many times before and can highly recommend dining here.
