We so enjoyed are one night stay with Laurent and his family. The room we were given was lovely, very cleverly using the 4.5 metre height to give guests both a lounge and bedroom. There was a comfy sofa, tea/coffee making facilities and a flat screen TV in the downstairs lounge area. Leading off the lounge a pristine white shower room with walk in double shower, shampoo/shower gel provided and good towels. Upstairs on the mezzanine floor there was a super king size bed and wardrobe. Good quality bedding. So far so good... We could have wandered into the bustling resort of Val-les-Bains, but opted for Laurent's cooking, which turned out to be a very wise decision! We started with kiers on the terrace followed by a dinner of baby ravioli on a bed of salad to start, then very tender pork fillet with baked courgette and aubergines with scallop potatoes. The sweet was a lovely mango iced pudding with Grand Marnier sauce. We had the wonderful company of Laurent, Stephanie, their three lovely daughters and a very friendly young couple from Lyon. What a great evening - good food, wine and company - what more could you ask for. p.s. Very good breakfast next day too - fruit compote, yogurts, cheeses, meats, freshly cooked bread and mini danish pastries.
