Hotel Alpha 

This is my favorite hotel in Erlangen. I've stayed there many times. What I like most about it is a home-like feeling. There are no fancy entrances, no marble columns, no golden mirror frames which gives me a sort of cold, distant feeling. You want to eat popcorn? Go to the kitchen and make some! Want to taste local pastries? Tell the owner and you have it at breakfast the next day. It is a simple and friendly environment. The owner is very nice and helpful. The location is excellent since there are nice little cafes, a traditional biergarten and an irish pub in 1 min walk. And the city center and train station is 10 minutes by walking. The rooms are furnished with new and clean ikea furniture. The room temperature was good although I stayed there at the coldest time of the year. There are many parking spaces if you travel by car. Thumbs up!
