A spur of the moment decision to have a weekend away found us staying at 'De Kolonel' B and B in the gorgeous hamlet of Ravenstein.What a find! Peter, our host, gave a warm welcome and instructions for parking on arrival.He kindly allowed us to lock up our bikes with the family's bikes in the garage out the back.The 15th Century or so home was beautifully and tastefully decorated with the guest's room and bathroom located on its own at the front of the property.With a key of our own to come and go as we pleased, we happily returned 'home'. Everything was just charming right down to the breakfast crockery and plentiful selection of cold meats, cheeses and variety of breads and the yummiest of creamy yoghurt served with crunchy muesli!! Ravenstein village is also a must for strolling and for the sweet tooth, an amazing 'Bosche Bol' from the bakery….YUM!! We also attempted a bike ride along the river only to return after an hour's ride in the rain, still worth the pedalling though.
