The Library 

Situated on Chaweng Beach near Central Samui, The Library balances immediate access to the town with a remarkably quiet atmosphere. The property is thoughtfully divided into a garden section with rooms and a family-friendly pool, and a serene, adult-only section for private pool suites, both looking out toward the ocean. The striking architecture transforms dramatically under shifting sunlight throughout the day. Our pool suite was enormous for two people, featuring an expansive living and dining area with a kitchen, a dedicated workspace, a sprawling bed nearly four meters wide, and a large bathroom that easily accommodated our four suitcases. Outside, the suite opened to a massive private pool, jacuzzi, and sundeck equipped with outdoor speakers, complete with a lovely honeymoon welcome of sweets and helium balloons. The dining and pool experiences were standout highlights. The restaurant team easily accommodated off-menu requests with warm, communicative service, while the pool staff proactively set up towels, brought water, and pushed a refreshing drink cart accompanied by great ambient music. An evening beach aperitif with live acoustic music, beanbags, and soft lighting against the sunset was particularly memorable. Housekeeping was equally intuitive, delivering a drying rack after noticing our wet swimsuits. Great turndown service. The breakfast spread was à la carte, remarkably varied, and exceptional in quality, while checkout was swift with meticulous luggage care. A few areas require attention. The dark wood aesthetic of the 2000s design holds charm, but parts of the property need TLC, particularly the outdoor wooden decking. Renovation work on an adjacent suite caused minor noise on our final day, and aggressive ants around the pool area resulted in bites that worsened over the following days. Overall, staff across all levels, even the gardeners, were exceptionally welcoming and courteous.
