We stayed in Il Limone in the heart of peak season as a base for visiting Haarlem and Amsterdam. We chose Haarlem as per Rick Steve's advice and we were very glad we discovered Il Limone. It's just a short walk from the heart of Haarlem and two train stops that will take you to Amsterdam. The B&B was very clean and the breakfast was very good. We loved our room on the top floor with huge windows that let the light in and the summer breeze to flow through the room; that kept the room the perfect temperature for summer. The B&B is dog friendly so we very much appreciated that since we have 3 and the owner is also very much a dog lover. Both her and her husband were very friendly, spoke English, and went out of their way to help us. Even when we showed up 2 hours ahead of schedule. I would recommend this B&B to anyone who is visiting Haarlem and who wants to visit Amsterdam without having to deal with the Amsterdam crowds and prices.
