Select MS William Shakespeare - Cologne 

Husband and I have just returned from a week's Rhine Cruise on the KNM MS William Shakespeare and we thought that it was an excellent trip. We are not a great cruise lovers but this boat only had 140 ( !) passengers and Riviera Travel organised it all so well that most of the hassle of travelling was taken out of our hands, which made for a very relaxing holiday. The Cruise Director, Veronika, was great from beginning to end.... friendly, helpful and professional and the Tour Manager, Stewart, was also very good, giving useful information about our destinations throughout the trip. The top deck en suite cabin was compact but totally adequate and both super clean with fresh sheets and towels changed often. Loved the duvet turn down every evening with the pillow chocolate !! I was expecting a balcony but the whole cabin became our private balcony once the curtains and full length doors were pulled right back. The food was wonderful, a super choice of fresh and tasty dishes and the dining room staff were amazing;nothing was too much trouble. Their 'cruise show' fell rather flat but that did not matter. My one suggestion would be some classical 'musak' in the lounge area rather than the background 'pop musak ' but that's just a personal choice. We were also a bit surprised with the end of the trip 'tips' suggestions but everyone on the boat worked so hard that they deserved it. We're always ready to criticize if we're not happy with standards of holidays but we thought that this Rhine River Cruise was wonderful and a super way of getting a 'taste' of Germany.
