Casa Rural do Ache 

This is a really pretty property, with great views, lovely gardens, a nice pool and a fantastic BBQ outdoor room close to the pool. The house is very well equipped with everything you would expect and the welcome pack left for us on our first night by Fran, the owner, was much appreciated. There are plenty of towels (both shower and for use by the pool) and the house was cleaned twice a week, which was an unexpected bonus. Fran and his wife also own the local hotel, so were on hand if we needed anything (you can also use the wifi at the hotel, which was useful as we were unable to pick up wifi at the property). We spent a very pleasant couple of weeks here and would recommend it for a holiday. However, there were a couple of slight problems. One was the size of the bed! It was a double, but a very small double. We are of average height and build, but still found it small, so this would definitely be an issue for anyone tall or of heavier build. The other negative was the very regular barking of the local dogs (of which there were many). Clearly this is outwith the control of Fran and his wife, but it did disturb the peace in what was otherwise a peaceful location.
