Pensión El Parque 

OK, maybe I lucked out, but I found nothing wrong with it, CONSIDERING THE PRICE. I will admit that I was quite taken aback by the gentleman who greeted me upon my arrival. His name is Mauricio, I believe. He looked like the reincarnation of Rip Van Winkle, long white beard and all. But he was very nice and quite amusing to talk to (I speak Spanish). The entry room, which turned out to be the living room of a former apartment. There are no exterior windows in this room. He did not switch on the light as we walked through and it was, indeed, very dungeon like. He led me to a large room with three individual beds. One was made up for me as I had a reservation. The others had spreads. I therefore had loads of room to spread out my stuff. My bed was very low to the floor, but comfortable. Nice view of surrounding streets from the window. It was noisy Saturday night, even with window closed, but very quiet Sunday night. Bath and shower were right next to me. Decent hot water and pressure with a HUGE six inch shower head placed nice and high. The floors in the apartment were very clean in my opinion. The living area was great especially since I had it all to myself. I am no kid. I am 71, doing part of the Camino del Norte, and I think the place was fine FOR THE PRICE (€22 per night). Cash only; no credit. Oh, there appear to be four bedrooms. One was blocked with stuff piled in front of the door. Another was secured by a small padlock. The other one and also mine had standard keyed locks, i received a set of three keys: street, apartment, room.
