From the first welcome to the final farewell, it was a joy to stay there.  Substantive breakfasts, pet friendly, old manor house setting with great views.  Good choice of  relatively local (less than 10 miles) public houses for evening fare.  Already hoping to get back there when next visiting the Lakes, which start only six miles north.

I put in the postcode but car sat nav directed me as far as the local pub only! After turning down a wrong lane past the pub in the pitch dark (9pm on an October evening) ascending up at a dead end I rang the owner who instructed me to carry on past the pub for another 2 miles!I eventually arrived at a building signposted as the ‘equestrian centre’ so I drove a bit further and ended up driving around some lane in a woods (surrounded by curious deer and badgers!). I rang the owner again and found their farm yard nearly getting stuck in the mud! I rang again and kind gentleman at the farm directed me to the house. By this time I was a bit stressed (late and had a long journey)but soon as I entered the house and was shown to my room, all this melted away! The room was lovely and bed was super comfy. The house was so quiet so had a great nights sleep, mind you I was the only one staying there. The morning greeted me with a picture perfect view out the window, as you can see from the photo. The owner greeted me with a lovely breakfast cooked to perfection. I normally stay in premier inns when on business, mainly due to the ease of finding them when having travelled along way during the night. This place though is definitely one I will come back to if working in the area (now I know how to find it!). As me and the wife love walking the hills in the lakes, this place will also be high our list to stay at. Beautiful house, location, breakfast and lovely hosts.

Truly pet friendly apartment. It has everything you need (and more) Very clean and well kept i would defiantly recommend for a short stay in the Lakes with your dog! The enclosed garden is great. Walking distance to pub & shop & a supermarket a few miles by car. Some lovely walks and beaches very close by.

We loved the hidden away farm house, a real gem. Staff and other guests were lovely.

Enjoyed every day of the seven days so did our three dogs,spotless friendly and everything a guest could want.
Weather not great but were cosy and good pub close by and little shop with everything needed . would return again

Our stay with Jenny and Stuart was amazing. the room was equipped with items that  other B and B's wouldnt dream of putting in. proper shower gel and shampoo. not the little scrappy bottles that are found elsewhere. all sorts of things. nothing forgotten. I cant say anymore because I will run out of space.. just fabulous. good luck in your new venture.. Both of you !

Everything is catered for at this wonderful B&B for guests and doggies alike. The room was ideal as the deck lead directly onto the garden. Jenny is a wonderful host and nothing is too much trouble. The room is very comfortable and the breakfast fantastic.

Thats actually true it did feel like a second home .There is only a few B&Bs  that have had that effect. Jenny and Stuart were perfect hostes .The room was great  the breakfast superb and the other guests were lovely people .,as were many other people we met, not forgetting the local pub.which was how a local should be. Due to commitments Jenny and Stuart are soon converting the premises into self catering. They also run a greyhound trust  This all made up for the mixed weather  .Really outstanding

My husband booked a surprise trip away for my birthday and booked this B&B on the strength of the reviews. We were not disappointed. Jenny and Stewart are fantastic hosts. Nothing was overlooked. Our room was just perfect, so homely and clean. Welcome sherry for us and a welcome basket of goodies for our canine companion.  Breakfast was one of the best we've had. A real jewel. Cannot recommend it highly enough. You wont be disappointed if you decide to stay here.

I really cannot rate this fab B&B high enough, I have stayed here twice now, most recently this weekend with my daughter and our two dogs. We stayed in rooms 2 and 3, both immaculate and comfortable with everything you could possibly need, my room looked out onto the beautiful greyhounds which I loved.  This place is not only dog friendly but also looks after their guests like they are second to none, we had a tray breakfast on our first night which includes a yogurt, they did not have the flavour we requested so made sure the next morning at the full breakfast we had the flavours we wanted, thank you Jenny this was so thoughtful. If you stay here you will not be disappointed and neither will your pooches.

Hard to find in the dark - but worth the search!

Extremely peaceful, beautiful walks and I’m no stranger as I stayed previously. It is unique as many years ago it was a fully functional farm spanning back to days I attended the excellent school adjacent and therefore, it always feels great to stay there back in my old stomping ground in a nutshell. I most certainly look forward to staying there again in the not too distant future. I’d like to add, there is a nice guy who gave me a lift to the bus stop at the bottom of the village, I offered him something for his fuel, but the kind guy didn’t take it so thanks all the same for his hospitality.

What a treat it was to stay here.  It is in a good location, great hosts together with all you need for your stay.  I was so impressed at all the little extras that were provided in our room.  Everything was immaculately clean with lots of home comforts.  We had a balcony for our personal use plus the use of the garden to the side of the property.  We had a lovely relaxing stay and would definitely recommend.

A very welcoming B&B, run by genuine and caring people - Jenny and Stuart - who generously make time to also run a retired greyhound rehoming charity.  We had well-appointed ensuite accommodation, for us and our own greyhound.  Lots of thoughtful extras were provided in our room - treats and towels etc for our dog; complimentary chocs and sherry for us and even a current TV guide!  Spotlessly clean B&B and an excellent full English breakfast with a cafetiere of exceptionally good coffee!  The owners work really hard and clearly take great pride in providing excellent service.  Thoroughly recommend and hope to be back soon!
