Lane House Bed Breakfast

Lovely few days away staying in this B n B. Comfortable, clean and warm. Fabulous views in an idyllic location. John was a great host and nothing was too much trouble. Cooked breakfast every morning to set us up for the day of exploring the lakes, This B & B is in an ideal location to explore the lakes with only a 30 minute drive away from several locations. Would definitely stay here again. Thanks again John.

Lovely location, large bedrooms, and very comfortable beds, top breakfast and John the host couldn't do enough for everyone, would I stay there again, defectively, great location to visit the lakes the coast and other attractions.

Very welcoming by John. Rooms very clean and smelt lovely . Loved the attention to detail nothing was too much trouble . Very dog friendly. Breakfast lovely and view and area lovely. Would definitely stay here again . Thanks again Carl Tanya and coco pops

Most enjoyable week, a lovely warm and welcoming place to stay. Very clean and pleasant accommodation with fabulous views. The host John went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay! Fantastic breakfast, nothing too much trouble for John. The location is prefect for exploring the lakes and within walking distance of nice local pubs. Will definitely be returning!

We stayed for 2 nights in the double room with balcony with our 8 week old baby. John was absolutely lovely, very accommodating and friendly. A real home from home which was just what we needed with travelling with a baby. We will definitely be back.

The breakfast was delicious and there was so much choice. The lovely little gestures from John such as grapes in the room, and a bowl of biscuits really made a difference. There was a personal touch about it all.

Would highly recommend.

Stayed for only one night on our way up to Scotland.

Bedrooms are large and clean with very good towels and bathroom items. The host (John) also provides little touches like bowls of grapes and cheesy biscuits. A range of teas are offered.

Breakfast is large and uses locally source food - the sausages are superb, the eggs wonderful. A superb meal.

John is a great host - nothing seems to be too much trouble for him.

All told, a great visit to a lovely property with great views.

John is a great host and made us feel very welcome, especially when we arrived quite late. The room was clean, spacious and really comfortable. The living room we had access to was very cosy and there’s only one other room you’re not really bothered by other people! All the little touches like fruit and chocolates in the room were very much appreciated, as was the bottle of wine for our anniversary- we very much enjoyed that, such a nice thing to do! Nothin was forgotten really- a lot of bnbs don’t have hairdryers for example but here did.
The breakfast was absolutely huge, everything was catered for. Great coffee! Lots of info in the room about walks and history of the area which we enjoyed.
We were only there one night but will certainly be back- thank you John!

What a lovely B&B! Clean, warm and friendly with smiling John greeting us as we arrived! If your over this side of the world I wouldn’t hesitate to stay at Lane House. Another great perk is the local pub just 10 min walk away - has great food, even does a take away pizza - but make sure you book ahead!

Fabulous location and very well presented and clean b&b. We stayed in the balcony room which was very well furnished, fresh flowers are left in the room each day and there are tea and coffee making facilities with a number of choices on offer. WiFi is also available free of charge and there is off road parking for two cars. John the owner goes above and beyond to ensure you enjoy your stay (he advised us which local pubs and shops to go to and which lakes would be quietest around bank holiday although there are leaflets in the room as well). Breakfast is an astonishing display of fresh fruits and cereals, followed by a traditional cooked breakfast with generous portions. However, John is very accomodating and will alter the breakfast to suit your tastes if you let him know in advance. The owner is a very lovely caring person and it was a pleasure to have met him.

Stayed at Lane House for a couple of nights whilst cycling in the lakes and found a gem! Lovely room with a huge bed. John the owner couldn't do enough for us, including finding room for our bikes. Breakfasts were fantastic with plenty of extras. Will definitely stay here again when back in the lakes.

Great B&B and super owner

We recently stayed at Lane House with John Riley when we were cycling the Bay Cycle Way on our tandem. It is a great location for cyclists, with rides in all directions - East and West on the Bay Ride and North up to Staveley. We had a large, comfortable en suite room at the front of the house, with great views across to Lindale and snow capped peaks in the distance. The bed was super king sized and very comfortable. John had gone to lots of trouble to add extra touches. There was a great selection of teas and coffees, biscuits, chocolates, bottled water and fresh fruit. There was plenty of choice for breakfast, again with a good selection of fresh fruit and locally-sourced produce. We had use of a comfortable lounge and John's house is tastefully decorated, reflecting his love of art and antiques. We took up John's recommendation of the Hare and Hounds for a meal and were not disappointed. Levens itself is a lovely village and we thoroughly enjoyed our four-night stay. We would be happy to return to Lane House.

Great hospitality and location

Felt at home from the minute we checked in. We had a lovely warm and friendly welcome. Our room was very spacious with a lovely ensuite and wonderful views. The little extras in the room (fresh flowers and chocolates) were a nice extra touch.
Fabulous home cooked full english breakfast in the morning, also plenty of cereals, fruit and yoghurts. Enough to fuel you for a day of visiting the lakes and other local attractions.
Would not hesitate to book here again, will definitely recommend this B&B to friends.
Thank you for a fabulous stay, will definitely be back.
