Edale House 

We stayed at Edale B & B for its convenient location to Clearwell Castle (10 minute drive) for my nieces wedding. We were a party of 5 and stayed in a double bedroom with en-suite, Superior King with en-suite and Superior Superking with en-suite - for 2 nights. They were all located on the first floor and next door or opposite each other. This was so convenient to be able to pop into each others' rooms when preparing and dressing for a wedding. The room locations could not have been better. We all enjoyed the facilities within our rooms and yes, there were many extra touches that meant we wanted for nothing. We personally found our bed comfortable but questioned whether it was a superior king as there was a join down the middle. The bed linen was clean and crisp! We did feel, at times, that our room was cold and even though we turned the radiators up to high this did not help. Heating on a timer perhaps? On arriving, we were greeted by Jane and Peter whom welcomed us with a lovely, hot cup of tea. After our long journey this was much appreciated. They both had such a lot of local knowledge to share, recommendations on where to eat and tips on experiences that could be enjoyed around The Forest of Dean. Though we could not enjoy these on this visit, we do plan to return later in the year and experience it all! Our pre-ordered breakfasts were delicious and we all enjoyed them. Lots of free-flowing toast and offers of more juice which was appreciated. There is a condiments table with everything you will need to dress your breakfast or spread upon your toast. The fruit bowls were fresh and full of flavour too! Tea and coffee appeared within a blink of an eye too - also of a good quality. We loved the honesty bar which housed every alcoholic drink (including quality malt whisky) you could think of and accompanying mixers too. We took advantage of this, for a night-cap, on our first night. Simply had to feel in a ticket, leave your room number and list what you had. A great idea!! We really enjoyed our stay and I've already mentioned, we hope to return when the weather is warmer to enjoy the local attractions and do a few of the cycle trails that Peter told us about.
