The Hotel Ercilla de Bilbao, Autograph Collection is a great stay for location and the overall appearance of a throw-back hotel. This hotel has an upscale 1970s vibe that reminds me of some of the classic hotels I've stayed in like the Waldorf Astoria in New York. It's been updated and renovated but the classic feel remains. It's in a great location with outstanding service and comfortable rooms. It's located right on a pedestrian mall and within walking distance to all kinds of restaurants as well as the Guggenheim Bilbao. As a Platinum Marriott member, a la carte breakfast in the American Bar was included for me and it was one of the BEST hotel breakfasts I've ever had, with an interesting menu and outstanding service. The staff member that greeted me each of my seven days was a gentleman who seems to have worked there for a long time. I wish I had gotten his name because his level of service was outstanding and I'd love to be able to mention his name in honor and appreciation. This is a great place that I'd return to when given the opportunity.
